21 CFR 170-199 - The FDA has regulations for "food contact materials"-- materials that are intended to be in contact with food. Food contact materials can be constructed from a variety of materials like plastics, rubber, paper, coatings, metal etc. During the contact of the food molecules can migrate from the food contact material to the food. Because of this, in many countries regulations are made to ensure food safety. 21 CFR 177.2600 - This FDA compliance, which falls under the above 21 CFR 170 - 199, specifies the proper treatment for rubber articles intended for repeated use and may be safely used in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food, subject to the provisions of this section. FDA Grade "A" Pasteurized Milk Ordinance - Grade A milk, also called fluid grade milk, refers to milk produced under sufficiently sanitary conditions to qualify for fluid (beverage) consumption. Only Grade A milk is regulated under federal milk marketing orders. |
